A session is set for 45 minutes to an hour. There are instances though that require adjustments to time allocations. This can be discussed and accommodated as required.

Yes, virtual sessions are available upon request.

The first therapy session is where you meet therapist. In a face-to-face session, you and your therapist will enter into a “formal contract”, the Informed Consent, which stipulates the process of the therapeutic sessions, outlines the Privacy and Confidentiality clauses, and the payment discussions. Thereafter, the therapy session will continue, taking form in the best strategy led by your presenting issue.

Approaches vary depending on the client and the presenting challenge. We do however, work mostly on the Brief solution Focused Therapy approach.

The therapeutic sessions are held in a private room. Records of the sessions are also kept in a private space to safeguard you.

We work with children from the ages of 4 years right up to adults.

You can cancel or reschedule an appointment due to unforeseen circumstances that arise. It is recommended that you cancel 24 hours before the session as this allows us to manage our calenda better instead of waiting for someone who is not coming at all. A call or a WhatsApp message can be utilized.

The length of the therapeutic sessions is determined by what a person is presenting with. Short term goals are encouraged for some people based on what they are going through. Short term goals also prevent psychological dependency which can hinder a persons independence on their healing journey. Long term goals are sometimes necessary especially if a person has a chronic condition which will require long term management.

Be prepared to present your experiences, thoughts, emotions, behaviour and actions honestly. This way, we are able to deal with the core of the reality you are coming with or coming from.

This does happen, you are most welcome to mention this to the therapist, myself included. The therapist may have also identified this as well. At this point it may be necessary to refer to another therapist who will be able to work with you from a different therapeutic framework.
